I know this has been quoted already, but yes, Luthor lost all credibility after that statement.
Luthor would make a good politician, actually. He's attached himself to a cause that is on the surface, quite credible; yet, when you've scratched the surface, you find the foundation is a steaming pile of BS. Much like Bush, actually. His paranoia is nearly at the level of pundits like Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh.
He's doing a good job of putting spin on every credible reason why PvP-specific armor is unnecessary. Luthor, ff you ever go up for voting in the polls, I'm sure you'll win. You fit the profile of political greats such as Dick Cheney and Scooter Libby. I hope you follow their paths in life.
